The Beginning of Kedai Kopi Yee Kee
Yi Kee Kopitiam was founded in 1948 in Serendah, Selangor by Mr. Chan Yi, who brought traditional Cantonese desserts and pastries from Guangdong, China. What began as a humble roadside stall soon became a beloved local tea house. Today, Yi Kee Kopitiam continues to serve its signature egg cakes, pandan coconut kuih, butter cakes, and traditional sweets, preserving generations of flavour and heritage.

Every morning, a familiar sight appears in front of Yi Kee Kopitiam — an auntie riding her motorcycle, bringing freshly prepared Chee Cheong Fun to the shop. Made with smooth, delicate steamed rice rolls, this traditional dish is served with a variety of toppings and sauces for customers to choose from. From sweet sauce to savoury flavours, each plate offers a comforting taste of classic street food enjoyed by generations.
